What happens and How it works?
While collecting credit card information from your customers, it's important to validate the credit card before vaulting. When card verification is enabled in Chargebee, the system carries out a $1 authorization by performing a unit charge (1 USD, 1 GBP, 1 AUD, 1 EUR, etc.) on the card provided. This charge is voided as soon as the authorization is complete and the unit charge is reversed.
Note:
1) For gateways Stripe, Braintree, Pin Payments, and eWay Rapid, card verification has to be enabled at the respective gateway's end. You can contact your respective gateway (documentation) to enable this
2) For Authorize.Net, WorldPay, PayPal Payments Pro, PayPal Payflow Pro and any other gateway that is vaulted via Spreedly, Chargebee provides the option for card verification.
3) If there is an immediate charge involved while collecting the card information, then the system will not perform the verification process. However, there could be instances where there is no immediate charge (e.g. collecting payment information for a plan with trial), in such case, $1 authorization would take place.
How to enable this option?
To enable card verification for the above-mentioned gateways, login to the web interface, go to;
Settings » Configure Chargebee » Payment Gateways » Select your gateway » Enable card verification option.
