Pin Payments

This feature is a Private Beta Release. Contact Chargebee Support to enable Pin Payments for your live and test sites.

Introduction

Pin Payments provides a platform for accepting payments online. Use Pin Payments and Chargebee to start collecting payments online from your customers.

Chargebee supports Pin Payments via payFurl. payFurl is a payment orchestration platform that provides payment-related API services and specializes in payment gateway integrations. The tokens will continue to be vaulted at Pin Payments and will be stored at payFurl.

Pin Payments is available only in Chargebee's live site.

Choosing Pin Payments

Review the following criteria before choosing Pin Payments as your payment solution:

  • Countries supported: Pin Payments integration with Chargebee is available only for merchants operating in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Currencies supported: Check the Supported Currencies section to learn more about the currencies supported by Pin Payments.
  • Pricing: Learn about Pin Payments' pricing information.
  • Payment methods: Pin Payments supports the following credit card networks: VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.

3D Secure (3DS) is not supported for this integration.

You can integrate Pin Payments using the following:

Chargebee Hosted Pages

In this method, a customer's card information is collected by Chargebee's secure hosted pages and passed on to Pin Payments.

Your PCI compliance requirements are greatly reduced by Chargebee's hosted pages.

As a merchant using Chargebee's hosted pages, you have to submit a Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ-A) to stay compliant.

Chargebee API

In this method, the card information is collected at your end and passed on to Chargebee later. Chargebee then routes it to Pin Payments.

Chargebee API (using Tokens)

Uses a Permanent Token – a token that represents a customer's card details stored in the Pin Payments vault – to process payments via Chargebee API.

Token Format: card_token

Minimal to None

When using a direct gateway token, PCI requirements are minimal.

Chargebee JS (Via Raw Card details)

You collect raw card details using your custom checkout and pass them to Chargebee.js.

Configuring PIN Payments in Chargebee

Follow these steps in your Chargebee live site to configure Pin Payments:

  1. Log in to Chargebee Live Site.
  2. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Payment Gateway.
  3. Click Add a Gateway and select Pin from the list of gateways.

  1. Enter your Secret API Key and click Connect.

  1. You have now configured Pin Payments in your Chargebee account.

  1. On the Configure Pin page, click Manage under Cards.

  1. Enable Always retain card information in Pin when customer updates it if you are using multiple payment gateways and you want the customer's latest card information to be updated in Pin.
  2. Click Save.

Transaction Descriptor

This integration supports sending a transaction descriptor for Pin Payments with the following validations:

  • Length: 0-22 characters
  • Reg Ex: ^[a-zA-Z0-9-_,. /&*]{0,22}

Supported Currencies

Pin Payments and Chargebee support 100+ different currencies for charging customers across different geographical locations. If you intend to use Pin Payments+Chargebee for your business, ensure that your transactional currencies are supported by both. Find the complete list of currencies supported by:
