Why is the Pay Now button not showing up in the emails?

Problem Statement

This article explains why the Pay Now button may not appear in emails sent to customers and what conditions must be met for it to show.

Solution

The Pay Now button appears when the email is configured for Invoice Receipts > Unpaid invoices and two conditions are met:

1. Auto-collection and payment method

  • If the subscription has a valid payment method and Auto-collection is ON, payment is collected automatically and the invoice is generated as Paid. In that case, emails do not include the Pay Now button.
  • The Pay Now button appears when Auto-collection is OFF or the payment method is invalid.

2. Invoice status

  • The Pay Now button appears for invoices with Payment Due or Not Paid status. When clicked, it leads the customer to checkout to complete payment.
