Where to edit the tax rate description on the invoice PDF

Problem Statement

You need to translate the tax rate description on the invoice PDF.

Solution

To translate the invoice tax description, download and update the language pack. For English, navigate to en > internal > invoices.csv and update the invoice.rate.description key.

Configuration steps

1. Download the language pack

   Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Languages. Download the pack, translate the values, and upload it to the same page. For more details, see Configure multiple languages.

2. Navigate to the file

   Unzip the downloaded pack. To edit the tax rate description, go to en > Internal > invoices.csv.

3. Edit the tax rate description

   Open invoices.csv in a text editor or Google Sheets. Find the row with key tax.rate.description (typically around row 25) and add your translation in the Value column. Save the file with the .csv extension.

4. Upload the language pack

   Compress the complete language pack and upload it via Configure Chargebee > Languages > Upload language pack. The changes will appear on the invoice PDF after a successful upload.
