Summary

In Chargebee, the renewal of the subscription or the next billing date depends on your customer's plan's billing frequency and date/time of subscription activation. The billing date/time is a subscription specific attribute.

Day based billing: If you have configured a monthly plan, then your subscription will renew on the mid-night on the date on which the monthly renewal starts.

Milli-second based billing: If you have configured a monthly plan say on 1st Jan, 15.00.00 hrs, then your subscription will renew on 1st Feb, 15.00.00 hrs.

Info: If your billing date is on the last date of the month you will be charged on every last date of the following month.

For example: If your billing date is on 31st August, your next billing date will be on 30th September relatively 28th/29th in February.

In the case of a plan with No Trial

Date of Subscription start: 1st September 2020, 9:00 AM IST

Date of renewal: 1st October 2020, 0:00 AM IST (midnight)

However, if you have a Trial configured in your plan (For example 10 days trial period) then,

Date of Subscription creation and trial start: 1st September 2020, 9:00 AM IST

Date of trial end: 10th September 2020 23:59 PM IST

Date of Subscription activation: 11th September, 2020 0:00 AM IST (midnight)

Date of renewal: 11th October 2020, 0:00 AM IST (midnight)
