A usage event is any specific action or consumption that represents customer value that you want to track or monetize. A few examples:
Submitting these events allows you to track what you bill for today and collect data on potential future monetization opportunities.
The count is based on the actual number of individual usage records, regardless of how they're sent (individually or in batches through our batch API). Administrative actions like subscription changes or account updates don’t count unless they are monetized.
To estimate your needs: (billable actions per customer per month) × (customer base) = (approximate monthly usage event volume).
